Ok, so ground beef isn’t technically a beef “cut” like steak or a roast, etc. But ground beef does provide the most options when cooking beef dishes.
Need comfort food? Meatloaf. Feeling spicy? Nachos! Fourth of July celebration? Hamburgers.
This week, I’m cooking chili in my slow cooker (or crock pot, if you’re southern like me). The recipe I am going to share with you will probably never win a chili cook off, but it does win the prize for busy-mom easy. AND the picky jokers I live with will eat it, so I consider that a win.
Before I share the recipe, let me tell you about these little gems. They are slow cooker liners, and if you cook in a slow cooker often, they will CHANGE YOUR LIFE. Put one in the slow cooker, then add the following ingredients:
1 pound of Idlewild South Farms Grass-fed ground beef, cooked until brown
1/2 diced sweet onion
2 packets McCormick Chili Powder
1 large can of crushed tomatoes
1 can of tomato sauce
Stir everything together in the slow cooker (crock pot), put the lid on and put it on low for 6 hours. BOOM, dinner is done.
Do you have a farmer? If not, I would love the opportunity to be your farmer. Enter your info below, and I’ll send over my farm brochure and price list. I will also add you to my weekly email list so you will never miss out on a Cut of the Week post.
